What is your role at WOODSmith Construction? 

I have overall control of the finance department at WOODSmith.

 

What does a typical working day look like for you?

I deal with customer invoices, supplier payments, produce management accounts and create reports for the senior management team.

 

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The role is very challenging, but it’s great to see the company is growing rapidly and I’m really excited to be part of that growth.

 

What do you enjoy most about working at WOODSmith Construction?

The team camaraderie.

 

What’s been your favourite project you’ve worked on?

When I arrived, there was no structured accounting in place. I have implemented multiple processes to ensure profitability is accurately tracked.

 

Please can you give us a brief career history?
I have taken complete control of finance function within all kinds of companies, from SMEs to FTSE 100 companies with a turnover ranging from £1m to £500m, providing accurate information for directors to make informed decisions and reduce risk.

 

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A fireman – a very different role! 

 

How do you have your tea/coffee?
Coffee – black with one sugar. 

 

Do you have any hobbies?
I have recently retired from playing American football and rugby. I’m going to give golf a try next.
