As site supervisor, Carl is on hand to help projects run smoothly and keep the team on track. We caught up with him to find out more about his role and what he’s enjoyed most since joining the WOODSmith Construction team just over a year ago…
What is your role at WOODSmith Construction?
To supervise the team on site, making sure targets are hit and jobs are complete to a high and safe standard.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
I sign permits, attend sim-op meetings and put the men to work!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The responsibility.
Why did you choose to work in the construction industry?
I have a good understanding of the industry, and it’s an area I’m interested in.
What do you enjoy most about working at WOODSmith Construction?
Having the opportunity to better myself. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me at WOODSmith Construction.
What’s been your favourite project you’ve worked on?
Anglo American (WOODSmith site).
Please can you give us a brief career history?
I started as an apprentice joiner, then moved into civil construction where I grew my skills before moving into my current management role.
How do you have your tea/coffee?
Strong coffee, one sugar.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love football.
Do you have any hidden talents?
No.
